The Central Pennsylvania Friends of Jazz staff and board of directors emphatically denounce racism and discrimination of any kind. We are both disturbed and saddened by the unjust deaths of Jacob Blake, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless others in the African American community who are too often frequent victims of systemic racism in this country. We choose not turn a blind eye to this very real disregard for human rights by standing in solidarity with the African American community to learn from the unjust reality they continue to face daily, and to act, by perpetuating the value of community through decency and kindness towards all. Prayers for fortitude and our deepest sympathy to the many families affected by the actions of those who choose to embrace this degenerative culture. We hope and pray soon for a day to come where truly, we all stand united together.
