In 2015, on Monday evening, December 27th, the Central PA Friends of Jazz hosted a tribute to Ron Waters, jazz trumpeter, composer, arranger, and the director of our CPFJ Youth Band for over 30 years. We highlighted Ron's dedication to the preservation of jazz through education of our young musicians and his long career as one of this area's outstanding musicians.

In Ron's honor, CPFJ named a new educational grant - The Ron Waters Jazz Scholarship - that will be given annually to deserving area students.

The 2017 Scholarship recipient is bassist and long time member of the CPFJ Youth Band, Aly Darwish, who began attending The University of the Arts in Philadelphia this semester.

We will have details available that night on how you can contribute to this scholarship fund and be a part of this legacy.

Add jazz to your holiday plans and join the Central PA Friends of Jazz for this very special evening.
